Drill

Drill is a query builder for exploring your raw Countly data. Choose the metrics you want, give each one its own filter, split the results by profile properties, event segments or time, and execute the query.

Drill with a query of three metrics, Sessions, Workouts and Workouts per session, broken down by platform, with its chart and data table

Use Drill when you need answers like:

  1. Which profiles triggered event X with segment Y, and how does that vary by profile property Z?
  2. How does the number of profiles in cohort X compare with cohort Y over the last 30 days?
  3. What share of sessions led to a purchase, by platform?

To get the most from Drill, track clean, consistent data with the Countly SDKs:

  1. Events with meaningful segment values (for example, plan, category or level).
  2. Profile properties you want to filter by (for example, account type, region or device).
  3. Numeric event fields (sum or duration) when you want ranges or thresholds.

From the results, you can open the profiles behind any metric or row, ask Cee to summarize or investigate what you see, save the query as a shortcut for your team, pin results to a dashboard, and export the data table. Very large queries run in the background and finish later.
