Analyzing Your Data Overview

Countly is built for everyone who touches the customer journey, not only the people who write queries. Built-in reports answer everyday questions out of the box, and when you need to go further, Drill, Cohorts, Funnels, and Cee help you ask your own questions and go from any number to the profiles behind it.

Classic Version

This overview describes Countly 27.0. For the classic version, choose v26.01 in the version menu at the top of this page.

Reading the Built-In Reports

Every report in Analytics works without building a query. Home gives you your project at a glance, and Sessions, Custom Events, Views, and the activity and engagement reports each answer one question about how people use your apps and websites. Many reports compare the selected period with the previous one and show what rose, fell, or appeared for the first time.

Going Deeper

When a built-in report does not answer your question, these tools let you shape the question yourself:

  • Drill starts from metrics. Put several events in one query, combine them with inline formulas, and pivot the results live. Formulas, a separate feature in earlier releases, now live inside Drill.
  • Cohorts group profiles by what they did and who they are, and show what members do differently from everyone else.
  • Funnels show where people drop out of a multi-step flow, and break any step down by a property.
  • Profiles show the people behind your numbers, and you can filter the list by what people did.
  • Cee answers questions in plain language with a chart from your data and the query behind it.

Sharing What You Find

Put the numbers you check often on one board, filter every widget at once, and send the board on a schedule as an e-mail report.
