Keep every message on brand without styling each one. A brand kit sets the colors, fonts, layout and buttons that new in-app messages, surveys and ratings start from, in one project or in all of them.
What a brand kit is
A brand kit is a named set of colors, fonts, layout and button styles. New in-app messages, surveys and ratings start from a kit, so they look like your brand before anyone styles them.
A kit sets:
- four colors: primary, secondary, background and text.
- a headline font and a body font.
- layout and type: the card's padding, corners and shadow, the gaps between its parts, its text sizes and alignment, and the overlay behind it.
- the primary and secondary buttons.
A kit belongs to one project, or to all projects. Each project has one default kit, and new content in that project starts from it. Every project begins with four kits, Default, Holiday 2026, Dark Mode and Premium Tier, which you can change or delete like any other.
Brand kits style the content your app users see. Brand under Manage is a different page: it puts your own name, logos and sender address on the dashboard itself.
How a kit reaches a message
A kit is a starting point, not a live link. When someone creates new content, the editor styles it with the project's default kit. From then on the content keeps the values it was styled with, even when the kit is changed or deleted later, so a message that is already running never changes its look because someone edited a kit.
When the kit a message uses has changed, the Brand button in the editor's canvas toolbar shows an amber dot. Clicking it lists what updating would change and what the message keeps because someone changed it in that message, and offers Update to current brand. Updating is your choice, one message at a time.
Any message can also change the kit's values for itself in the editor. The kit's Layout & type settings are what each new message starts from.
Use Cases
Create a brand kit
- Open Brand Kits and click New brand kit.
- Give the kit a name and pick its four colors. The line under each color says where it shows up.
- Pick the body font.
- Set the button radius under Buttons.
- Under Project, pick where the kit goes. It starts with the current project. Pick several projects to create a copy in each, or, as a global administrator, pick all projects to make one kit available everywhere.
- Click Create brand kit. The new kit opens in its details panel.
- Click Edit in the details panel, then set the headline font, Layout & type, Background overlay and the button colors, and click Save changes.
Step 7 is where those settings stick: when a kit is created, its headline font, layout, overlay and button colors are not kept.
Choose the kit new content starts from
- Open Brand Kits and find the kit.
- Hover its row, open the menu at the end of the row and choose Set as default.
The kit gets the Default badge, and the kit that had it loses it: a project has one default kit.
New content in the project now starts from this kit. Content that already exists keeps its look.
Change a kit and bring messages up to date
- Open Brand Kits and click the kit. Its details open beside the list, and Used in shows how much content uses it.
- Click Edit, change what you need and click Save changes. Discard puts the kit back to how it was when you opened it.
- Open a message that uses the kit in Content Blocks. The Brand button in the canvas toolbar shows an amber dot.
- Click Brand. The notice lists what will update and what the message keeps because it was changed there.
- Click Update to current brand, then save the message.
Messages you do not open keep their current look.
FAQs
I changed a kit. Why do my running messages look the same?
A kit is where new content starts. Content keeps the values it was styled with, so a kit change reaches a message only when you open it in the editor, click Brand and choose Update to current brand.
Is Brand Kits the same as Brand under Manage?
No. Brand kits style the in-app messages, surveys and ratings your app users see. Brand under Manage puts your own name, logos and sender address on the dashboard.
Why is Delete grayed out for a kit?
It is the project's default kit. Make another kit the default, then delete this one.
Where did Holiday 2026, Dark Mode and Premium Tier come from?
Every project starts with four ready-made kits the first time Brand Kits opens. They are ordinary kits: change them, or delete the ones you do not need.
Which kit does new content use when I start from a template?
The project's default kit. The template previews in the New content dialog use it too, so the colors you see there are the ones you get.
