Self-tracking with Countly

Self-tracking with Countly enables organizations to monitor the usage of their own Countly server, storing all data locally. This feature is particularly beneficial for large organizations managing servers for multiple teams, as it provides visibility into various aspects of server usage, such as:

  • SDK Utilization: Identifying which Countly SDKs are in use and their respective versions.
  • Feature Usage: Determining the usage frequency of specific features to make informed decisions about enabling or disabling them.
  • User Activity: Monitoring dashboard login frequencies and timings to understand user engagement.
  • Maintenance Planning: Assessing optimal times, such as evenings, to disable dashboards for maintenance with minimal disruption.

Implementing self-tracking facilitates effective server management and enhances user support. Additionally, with the integration of in-app messaging through the Journeys, administrators can send notifications directly to Countly dashboard users. This includes updates on upcoming maintenance, Countly upgrades, or onboarding procedures within the organization. Moreover, utilizing the Countly dashboard to track its own usage offers a unique and insightful experience.
